    Career Training and Development

OCC Employees In order to push ahead in such a dynamic financial environment, the OCC must have a team that possesses the latest knowledge and skills. Training and career development are priorities at the OCC, and all employees participate in periodic training classes and/or conferences to keep their knowledge and skills current. Training programs are designed to enhance technical knowledge and develop leadership skills.

New bank examiners participate in a one-year training program, including classroom training as well as on-the-job experience. As part of this program, new examiners attend several courses designed to introduce them to the life of a bank examiner. Sponsors, who are experienced examiners, help plan and guide the development of new bank examiners during the first year.

Experienced examiners are also highly encouraged to continue their professional development and to update their technical skills by taking advantage of OCC's external training and education reimbursement programs, including those designed to obtain industry certifications. Go to Top of Page
