Mission and Goals
MISSION:
The US Army CGSC develops leaders prepared to execute full spectrum
joint, interagency, intergovernmental, multinational operations,
advances the profession of military art and science, and supports
operational requirements.
GOALS:
- EDUCATE LEADERS
- Provide qualified staff and faculty.
Provide quality curricula.
Provide the Master of Military Art and Science Degree Program.
Provide the Program for Joint Education (PJE Phase I).
Provide an environment which enhances quality of life and supports
the learning experience.
Coordinate RC education.
Sustain CGSC as an institution of excellence.
- EXECUTIVE AGENT FOR LEADER DEVELOPMENT
- Develop, coordinate, and ensure execution of the Army leader development action plans.
Inform strategic and senior Army leadership on the Army Leader Development Program (LDP).
Maintain currency of leadership and leader development doctrine.
Serve as coordinating staff for Deputy Commandant in his role as "Depuy Chair of Leadership."
Ensure leader development manuals for officers, warrant officers, and NCOs are published.
Incorporate leader development investments and divestment's into the leader development action plans (LDAPs)
within 90 days after approval.
- DEVELOP DOCTRINE
- Develop and maintain a qualified body of doctrine and concept experts and writers.
Critically review doctrine on a periodic basis to keep it current and valid.
Develop, integrate, and disseminate doctrinal products.
Stimulate and develop concepts and doctrinal ideas.
Build consensus for doctrine acceptance for FM 100-5.
- PROMOTE AND SUPPORT ADVANCEMENT OF MILITARY ART AND SCIENCE
- Ensure the internal and external integration of advancements in military art and science (integrate).
Routinely conduct exchanges of professional knowledge and skills, internally and externally (interact).
Ensure operations other than war (OOTW) requirements are integrated into TRADOC's Concept Based Requirement System (CBRS).
Communicate CGSC's knowledge to and from external audiences (outreach).
Research, write, and publish works that reflect and support the advancement of military art and science.
Sustain an environment that provides resources to support the advancement of military art and science by
internal and external audiences (support).
