Information Archives of the USGS Woods Hole Science Center

Introduction:

The USGS Woods Hole Science Center`s Information Archives is responsible for maintaining and updating inventories of all pertinent data and other information. Examples of such information include cruise data, map collections, publications and the Gosnold Reading Room Periodicals.

Publications: A collection of publications relating to the research of the United States Geological Survey, Woods Hole, MA dating from 1962 to the present. Some related works of associated authors and activities may also be found.

Field Activities: A collection of research related field activities conducted by the United States Geological Survey, Woods Hole, MA dating from 1962 to the present.

GIS information: Our interactive map server with displays on various information layers from a number of USGS research programs.

Times Series Data: This server contains USGS Moored Time Series Data. Data is available in the raw sample interval, hourly averaged, and low-pass filtered. Variables served includes currents, temperature, pressure, conductivity, light transmission (beam atttenuation) and others.Time range: 1975 - present.

Seismic Records: A collection of sidescan sonar and high-resolution single-channel seismic reflection profiles in paper format.

Photographs: A collection of ocean bottom photographs on various media.

Geophysical Measurements: A collection of magnetometer and gravity data on paper and tape media.

Ocean Floor Samples: A collection of sediment cores and rock samples.

CMGP Infobank: A description of the field activities for the entire Coastal and Marine Geology.
