A telephone conference was conducted in order to discuss Attorney General Barr's request to publish specified proposals related to firearms offenses. Chairman Wilkins and Commissioner Mazzone participated via telephone. Commissioners Carnes, Gelacak, Nagel and ex officio Commissioner Maloney were present at the Commission. Staff Director Newton, Deputy Staff Director Martin, and General Counsel Steer also were present. A discussion ensued with each Commissioner expressing views related to the request.
Chairman Wilkins and Commissioners Carnes and Mazzone voted to not publish the proposals. Commissioners Gelacak and Nagel voted to publish. Failed (3-2).
