    MSHA Assistant Secretary Dave Lauriski addresses several hundred people during a breakfast banquet celebrating this year’s Sentinels of Safety award winners. Each year, MSHA, along with the National Mining Association (NMA), recognizes eight U.S. mining operations for their outstanding safety records with a prestigious Sentinels of Safety trophy. This year’s awards ceremony was held in Las Vegas in conjunction with NMA-sponsored MINExpo, the world’s largest and most comprehensive exposition for the mining industry.
