One new case study is
now in pilot testing: Immunologic Disorders (a Web-based
interactive case study).
The
Web-based interactive Immunologic Disorders case study
is a sophisticated, multimedia program that aggressively takes
advantage of the Internet capability to incorporate textual
information and databases with graphics, video, audio, and client-side
interaction through Javascript. The multimedia design "walks"
the student through a simulated patient examination.
Future Directions
New case studies will
be developed with a focus on health conditions rather than specific
substances. We will promote and market the case studies to health
care institutions and survey health professionals in an effort to
keep the program viable and relevant to their education needs.
