IASE - the DoD IA Portal

The IASE is currently undergoing a complete transformation. We would love to hear your suggestions, such as:

  • New topics to cover.
  • Additional functionality desired.
  • IA policy or guidance documents.
  • New related links to good IA sources.
  • Additional services desired.
  • Ways to improve our user interface.
  • Technologies we should consider for use while rebuilding.

We appreciate all of the comments and suggestions that we receive for improvement of the IASE website. We are working hard to provide the very best Information Assurance (IA) information and service available for the DoD IA community.

Suggestions for changes to the web site are being incorporated into the on-going redesign initiative. Some changes will be incorporated quickly and others will be incorporated over time, based on the available resources. Please keep the suggestions coming. We greatly appreciate every contribution. Thank you!

Suggestions may be sent to the attention of: iase@ncr.disa.mil.

The Vision:

The DoD IA Portal will be a customized, personalized, ever-changing mix of news, resources and tools/applications that will be the desktop destination for everyone in the DoD IA Community – and the primary vehicle by which people do their work. It will provide a trusted, “one-stop” source for the latest IA Information.

Additional information regarding DoD's Net-Centric vision for the IA Portal is available in the following briefing given at the 2004 IA Workshop: DoD IA Enterprise Dynamic Workplace (EDW): Strategy and Business Case Overview. (DoD CERT Req'd)

Goals:

  • Establish a single IA Community portal to enable “horizontal fusion” across the IA Community
  • Serve as a Community model for the implementation of security practices
  • Align current efforts around IA knowledge management
  • Provide a gateway to other IA resources
  • Field information quickly

Current plans include:

  • Development of a complete Advanced Distance Learning capability
  • The addition of many dynamic collaboration areas such as chat rooms, bulletin boards, team rooms and content management
  • Role based content delivery
  • Content Management capabilities
  • A “New to IA” area for ramping up those new to IA
  • A centralized IA Working Group area consisting of links to all major IA Working Groups
    Best Practices Area
  • IA Forms and Templates Area
  • Distribution of IA Enterprise-wide tools and software applications
  • Expanded Search capabilities
  • Expanded Computer Network Defense (CND) coverage
  • Expanded Policy and Guidance capabilities
  • Expanded Alerts and Notices
  • Expanded IAVA and Software Patch Distribution capabilities
  • And much more!!

Thank you for your continued interest in the IASE and stay tuned for big changes.
