Interagency Agreement
An Interagency Agreement was created to establish an education and outreach
demonstration program to better serve American Indians and Alaskan Natives (AI/ANs).
Through this agreement, CMS, IHS, and SSA will openly and readily collaborate
on ways to communicate with and educate AI/ANs about SSA and CMS programs. CMS
and SSA will transfer funds to IHS in support of this agreement.

IA-02-109: Cost Reports (PDF 74K)
Under this agreement, IHS will develop an automated system in which their Agency
personnel costs and other associated costs can be reallocated to health service
cost centers such that cost hospital cost reports can more easily be produced.
IA-02-110: Satellite Training

Under this agreement, IHS will conduct a national survey to develop a list of
existing satellite-training modules available through federal agencies, universities,
foundations, etc. This list will indicate compatibility to CMS’ MedLearn satellite
broadcasting system and costs to the modules. Additionally, IHS will survey
their staffs to determine which modules would be utilized by their staff and
of the existing modules, where are the gaps to their training needs.

IA-02-161: Eliminating Barriers to American
Indian and Alaska Native Data in State Medicaid Systems (PDF

Upon completion, this effort will benefit CMS in that Medicaid demographic data
relative to the AI/AN population served by the IHS will be submitted by states
and remain available within CMS systems further allowing for data analysis in
the consideration of AI/AN policy.
