Albert
Arnold Gore, Sr., was born on December 26, 1907, in Granville,
Tennessee. He was the Democratic Congressman from the fourth
district of Tennessee who served in Congress during the 76th
through 82 Sessions (1939 to 1953) and as Senator from Tennessee
during 1953 thru 1970. He was not a subject of an FBI criminal
investigation, but there is a correspondence file with Gore
as the subject. In 1938 and 1939 Congressman Gore visited
the FBI with some of his constituents from Tennessee. After
leaving the Senate, he became Chairman of Island Creek Coal
Company, Lexington, Kentucky in 1972. Gore was a vice-president
and on the Board of Directors for Occidental Petroleum. Island
Creek Coal Company is a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum.
At the request of the White House a background investigation
was on Albert Gore, Sr., in 1977.
