Electronic Submission of Food and Color Additive Petitions

Steps to Implement Electronic Submissions

On October 10, 2001, the Office of Food Additive Safety conducted a webcast to announce a new era in the submission of food and color additive petitions. Beginning October 2001, the Office began accepting electronic submissions.

A revitalized pre-petition consultation process is offered to assist companies to understand the new organization of petitions and the electronic submission process.

The webcast can be saved directly to a local drive. It is compressed (zipped) into a seft-extracting executable (.exe) format (compressed with WinZip Self Extractor). The file will decompress into a presentation entry page (default.html).

An alternate option for viewing the webcast is to download the files to a CD. The CD will autoplay.

The slides shown during the live webcast are changed automatically as the presentation precedes. This means that all viewers can see the slide that is appropriate for each portion of the webcast without manually changing the slides.
