Who assigns vendors' CAGE codes?

The Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) in Battle Creek, MI is the only authorized source of CAGE codes. The CAGE request process is now incorporated in the DCCR registration. Upon activation in CCR the company will be assigned a CAGE Code. Notification of the new CAGE is sent in a letter via the US Postal Service.

Reminder: Foreign companies that perform work outside the United States ARE required to register in CCR in order to receive a contract. They must first obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) CAGE (NCAGE) code from the appropriate source. The NCAGE code can be obtained directly from the Codification Bureau in their country. Please view the up-to-date list of countries and the information necessary to contact the Codification Bureau by visiting our web site at http://www.dlis.dla.mil/Forms/Form_AC135.asp.

Agency Return on Investment Template:

This document is intended to provide Federal agencies with a template to utilize when developing a return on investment analysis for the implementation of the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) within that agency. Although each agency will vary in its actual return on investment analysis, this document provides the general framework from which potential costs and savings can be estimated. This document also outlines various non-quantitative benefits of CCR implementation for both the current version of CCR as well as for planned future enhancements.
