Email Instructions for CPSC Subscription Lists

  1. Decide what list you want to subscribe to or unsubscribe from. The choices (see our detailed description for more information) are:

    • all -- All CPSC press releases and the Public Calendar
    • releases -- All CPSC press releases, including recalls
    • recalls -- Recalls only
    • calendar -- CPSC Public Calendar only
    • cpsr -- Notifies when a new issue of the Consumer Product Safety Review has been published
    • child -- Only those recalls relating to children and infants
    • recreation -- only those recalls relating to sports and recreation
    • outdoor -- only those recalls relating to outdoor use products
    • household -- only those recalls relating to household products
    • specialty -- only those recalls relating to specialty products

  2. Prepare a new email message to: lyris@list.cpsc.gov
  3. To subscribe, type the following (substituting for "listname") in the SUBJECT line:

    join listname (where listname = all, releases, recalls, calendar, cpsr, child, recreation, outdoor, household, or specialty)

  4. To unsubscribe, type the following (substituting for "listname") in the SUBJECT line:

    leave listname (where listname = all, releases, recalls, calendar, cpsr, child, recreation, outdoor, household, or specialty)

  5. If subscribing, you will get an email requesting confirmation. If unsubscribing, your message must come from your address on our list. If you cannot do this, send a blank email to your personal unsubscribe address (at the end of every list message), or contact the list administrator (mcohn@cpsc.gov)
  6. You can use subscribe instead of join, and unsubscribe instead of leave
  7. Examples:
    • join all
    • subscribe child
    • leave recalls
    • unsubscribe all
