National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc. (NOCC) was founded by an ovarian cancer survivors in Boca Raton, FL. Its birth was induced by the trivialization and lack of attention to ovarian cancer throughout the media. In April 1995, they began a nationwide campaign to gain national recognition for the SILENT killer, ovarian cancer. Over 2000 ovarian cancer survivors throughout the nation have joined NOCC. Twenty-three states are following Florida NOCC's lead by forming their own state chapters. Our mission is to save women's lives by raising awareness about ovarian cancer and to promote education regarding all the facts, issues and problems surrounding ovarian cancer throughout the general population and the medical community.
