The fourth element of the Board's strategy corresponds with the
fourth "cog" of
the Monitoring Framework, and emphasizes the critical role of data
storage and retrieval. While laboratories supply initial data,
well-configured and documented data records are needed for accurate
interpretation and analysis of those data. Data Management has been
recognized by the US
EPA as one of the 10 basic elements of a State water monitoring
program.
