Help with Home Health Compare Search

Home Health Compare Search Help

This website has information about all home health agencies certified by Medicare. To find the information you want about agencies in a specific area, you need to do a search. A search lets you tell the computer what information you want. Here are some search tips to help you get the right information:

  • You must select a state on the first page of Home Health Compare.

  • On the second page, narrow your search to the area or specific agency you are interested in. If you know of an agency you want information on, type in its name under Home Health Agency Name. If you are only interested in an agency close to your home or work, search by zip code. If you want to look at agencies in a larger area, choose county or the entire state. Remember, the larger the area you choose the more agencies will be listed. Lists of 50 home health agencies or more may cause technical delays, and a long time to review.

  • If you search by:

    • County: Choose the county you want to search and then click on the Search by County button. You will get a list of all of the Medicare-certified home health agencies in the county you chose. This is the most effective way to search.

    • ZIP Code: Type in a ZIP code that belongs to the state you chose and then click on the Search by ZIP Code button. You will get a list of all of the Medicare-certified home health agencies in the zip code you chose.

    • Home Health Agency Name: If you know the name, or part of the name of a specific agency, type it in and then click on the Search by Name button. Make sure you spell the name right. If you only typed part of the name, you will get a list of all home health agencies with those words in their name.

  • The Select a Home Health Agency page lists all Medicare-certified home health agencies in the area you chose. Click on the agencies you want detailed information on. Long lists (over 50) may cause technical delays and take longer for you to read.

To change the font size:

At the top of your screen, select:

View, and Fonts (if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer) at the top of your screen; or
Options, General Preferences, and Fonts (if you are using Netscape) at the top of your screen.

Choose a font that is comfortable for you to see. A medium font will fit most charts on one page. If you choose a large font, the print may be easier to read, but you may have to scroll from left to right to see some parts of the charts.
