The NCUA created the Office of Corporate Credit
Unions (OCCU) in 1994 to centralize supervision of the corporate
credit union system through its headquarters in Alexandria, Va.
Corporate credit unions provide a variety of investment services
and payment systems for other credit unions. There are 31 corporate
credit unions that range from $7.3 million to $35 billion in assets.
