Time & Frequency Division Seminars

NIST Seminar at Measurement Science Conference: Time and Frequency Measurements and Applications

January 17-18, 2005
Anaheim, California

This seminar focuses on frequency calibrations, time synchronization, and measurement methods. It will discuss the various types of frequency standards, as well as using Global Positioning System (GPS) and LF radio receivers as transfer standards. It will explain how to measure frequency offset and stability, and how to obtain traceability to NIST. Measurements will be demonstrated in the classroom. The seminar is intended for anyone who makes time and frequency measurements or who is involved in applications requiring accurate time and frequency sources.

NIST-T1X1 Workshop on Synchronization in Telecommunication Systems

May 10-12, 2005
Broomfield, Colorado

The workshop will present current and emerging synchronization issues in telecommunications systems. Presentations will begin in tutorial format, with some presentations stretching assumed knowledge to more advanced users. It is designed for all levels of telecom sync participants, from beginners in the field to professionals wanting to keep current with emerging technologies.

30th Annual NIST Time and Frequency Seminar

June 7-10, 2005
Boulder, Colorado

This seminar will introduce new lectures on optical clocks, phase-locked loop optimization, oscillator and amplifier arrays, active PM-noise reduction techniques, low-noise frequency synthesis using femtosecond lasers, and chip-scale atomic clocks.
