Summary Description: Provide basic life history information for white sturgeon. Investigate the responses of young sturgeon to changes in tempoerature, flow, and other variables. Address potential for artificial propagation. Identify genetic distinctions between populations.

Background: This multiyear study of sturgeon, formerly Project 8331600, provided basic life history information to be used in future evaluations of hydroelectric impacts.

Milestones: This study investigated the responses of young sturgeon to changes in temperature, flow, and other variables. It also addressed the potential for artificial propagation and identify genetic distinction between populations. The project continued through FY 1990.

Results: The results will be used to develop sturgeon protection, mitigation, and enhancement measures.
