INDIAN CREEK HABITAT RESTORATION (GRANDE RONDE)


Location: GRANDE RONDE SUBBASIN basin, including sites listed below.
INDIAN CREEK (GRANDE RONDE), INDIAN CREEK (GRANDE RONDE), INDIAN CREEK (GRANDE RONDE), LITTLE INDIAN CREEK, LITTLE INDIAN CREEK.

Summary Description: Restoration work in Indian Creek Watershed, (Grande Ronde Basin) including livestock pond development, road restoration and closure and stream surveys.

Background: The objectives at Indian Creek are to reduce sedimentation, reduce the spread of noxious weeds, improve pool habitat, improve riparian habitat, and improve wildlife habitat. This will be accomplished by pool restoration, pond development, and offsite water development.

Milestones: Installed steel gates at each end of a road running adjacent to Indian Creek and a tribuarty. Maintenance work on the road was also performed. Fenced a pond and one acre and provided for offsite watering. Piped water from a spring to a watering site site away from the riparian zone. Contract 1995AI38043 was completed and closed by 1997.
