Anti-Iraqi Force Cell Member Captured Near Tikrit

TIKRIT, Iraq, Aug. 16, 2004 - First Infantry Division soldiers captured an anti-Iraqi force member and two others during a raid near Tikrit Aug. 16 at about 11:40 p.m., according to Multinational Force Iraq officials.

The raid was conducted to capture two anti-Iraqi force members of a known anti-Iraqi force cell. One of them, Ahmed Said, was captured during the raid. The second target was not apprehended in the raid.

The soldiers transported the individuals to a Multinational Force detention facility for questioning.

No 1st Infantry Division soldiers were injured in the incident.
