Soldiers Detain 10 Suspects
In Drive-By Shooting

TIKRIT, Iraq, Aug. 23, 2004 — Task Force Danger soldiers detained 10 individuals and several weapons after a combat patrol was attacked Aug. 22 by small arms fire near Balad, according to Multinational Force Iraq officials.

An OH-58D Kiowa helicopter was able to follow the vehicle as it stopped at several houses after the shooting.

The soldiers searched three houses and the suspect vehicle. The soldiers detained the10 individuals from the houses and confiscated four AK-47 assault rifles and one G3 rifle.

The individuals were transported to a Multinational Force detention facility for questioning.
