BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 28, 2004 — An Iraqi seamstress works on a piece of clothing at the newly reopened Al Sadiya sewing facility. A ribbon-cutting ceremony July 25 marked the opening of the facility, which should provide 1,000 new jobs in the local area. The renovation project, sponsored by the 5th Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division, cost nearly $500,000, and included a makeover of plumbing, electrical circuits and wall replacements.
