Document Availability

Information Bridge, developed and maintained by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information, makes DOE scientific and technical information electronically available to the public through GPO Access http://www.gpoaccess.gov/index.html without charge through a long-standing Interagency Agreement with the U.S. Government Printing Office. DOE Information Bridge's collection includes DOE-sponsored research literature received in paper copy or electronic format from DOE Laboratories and Grantees at OSTI since January 1995. Previously through this agreement, Federal Depository Libraries throughout the United States selected and received this DOE full-text literature in microfiche format. Regional Depository Libraries continue to maintain and make available the DOE collection free to the public.

Microfiche or paper copy full-text documents of DOE's literature collection are also available for sale to the public from the National Technical Information Service, Springfield, VA at http://www.ntis.gov/ Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Eastern Time. There are other commercial sources for extensive searching of Department of Energy information. These sources offer access to the comprehensive international Energy Database available via DIALOG (The DIALOG Corporation (file 103, 104, 107)) at http://www.dialog.com, Nerac, Inc. at http://www.nerac.com, and SilverPlatter Information available at http://www.silverplatter.com. These services provide bibliographic abstracts of DOE and energy related information (no full-text) dating back to the 1940's. There is a charge for these systems. Information found at these sources should also be available for sale via NTIS at http://www.ntis.gov/ Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
