Medicare Preventive Services

Medicare Mammography Campaign

The national Medicare Mammography Campaign is directed at improving women beneficiaries' knowledge of breast cancer screening and awareness of Medicare's annual screening mammography benefit. Health care providers are also targeted to improve their recommendation of breast cancer screening.

On-going activities include:

• NEW - English black and white full page mammogram ad. (PDF - .8MB)
• NEW - Spanish black and white full page mammogram ad. (PDF - .8MB)
• NEW - English color full page mammogram ad. (PDF - .8MB)
• NEW - Spanish color full page mammogram ad. (PDF - .8MB)
• Partnership with the National Cancer Institute, Office of Communications, to create and distribute Educational Materials including brochures, posters and bookmarks.
• Coordination within the Agency (including all 10 Regional Offices), with contractors (Quality Improvement Organizations), and with sister agencies of the Department of Health & Human Services.
• Outreach activities in conjunction with Mother's Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October).
• Communication with partners via a Newsletter.
• Dissemination of screening rates for Mammography Services Paid for by Medicare.
• Participation in the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month Board of Sponsors.
