To support the translation from Hungarian of Geza Ottlik's novel Buda. Published posthumously, this experimental novel is an outgrowth of the author's earlier magnum opus, School on the Border, which is his only novel translated into English and is now out of print.

To support the translation from Chinese of Horatio Alger Comes to China, a collection of short stories by different authors about the self-made person. Works include Bai Xianyong's "A Death in Chicago," Fang Fang's "Landscape," He Jia's "Apple Pie," Ma Yuan's "Smooth Tongued Gigolo," Su Tong's "Flight from Home in 1934," and Yan Geling's "The Roleplayer."

To support the translation from French of Seven Years in the Life of a Woman: Isabelle Eberhardt, Letters and Journals. Eberhardt's writings from her travels with the French Foreign Legion reveal a woman tormented by uncertainty and ill health, but filled with a romantic vision of the desert.

To support the translation from French of the collected correspondence between poet Paul Celan and his wife, French artist Giséle Celan-Lestrange. Written between 1951 and 1970, when Celan committed suicide, the more than 600 letters explore critical aesthetic questions and include first drafts of renowned poems.

To support the translation from Spanish of El Periquillo Sarniento (The Mangy Parrot) by Mexican writer José Joaquin Fernández de Lizardi. Published in 1816, El Periquillo Sarniento is widely recognized as the first Mexican and the first Latin American novel.
