USTDA AT A
GLANCE
-
Since the
U.S. Trade and Development Agency's inception in 1981, we have
been associated with more than $21 billion in exports -- or over
$35 in exports for every dollar invested in USTDA
activities.
-
USTDA is a
small, independent federal agency. Because of our size and
management style, we respond quickly to assist U.S. companies in
capitalizing on overseas business opportunities and responding to
foreign competition.
-
In Fiscal
Year 2003, USTDA obligated more than $52 million for U.S firms in
more than 67 strategically targeted developing and middle-income
countries in the following regions: Africa/Middle East;
Asia/Pacific; Central and Eastern Europe; Latin America and the
Caribbean; and Eurasia.
-
While USTDA
projects span a wide variety of sectors, many focus on energy and
power, transportation, health care, mining and minerals
development, telecommunications, and environmental
services.
-
USTDA, works closely with a
number of other Federal agencies including The U.S. Trade
Representative,
The Departments of State and Commerce, The Export-Import
Bank of the United States, and the Overseas Private Investment
Corporation to advance American business interests and to
support development opportunities in developing and middle-income countries around
the globe.
