USTDA Helps U.S. Exporters to Enter
Overseas Markets

President at Hoffman International, Inc., is pictured

Managing Director of Hoffman, and Russian personnel

equipment joint venture.
USTDA funds activities designed to
highlight U.S. solutions to overseas development
priorities. In this process, USTDA assists many U.S.
firms in their efforts to enter overseas markets.
This issue features an interview with Musya Tumanyan,
Vice President of Hoffman International, Inc., a small
U.S. company based in Piscataway, New Jersey. Following
a USTDA-funded feasibility study, Hoffman entered into a
joint venture with a private Russian firm, Rosremdormash,
to supply modern construction and road building
equipment on a leased basis to firms in Russia.
To date, this project has produced $15 million in U.S.
exports
and has had a positive developmental impact on Russia.
The success of the project, and many others like it, is
due not just to the dedication of the host country
project sponsor, but also to the commitment of a U.S.
firm to navigate the challenges of a difficult overseas
market. Update: Ms. Tumanyan, how did Hoffman
become involved in the leasing venture in Russia?
