Feasibility Study Summaries Now Available on Web

The Executive Summaries of recently completed feasibility studies are now posted as a special category on the TDA home page, http://www.tda.gov. This new feature allows an interested company to review the summary and then decide if they wish to acquire the complete study. After being posted for 90 days, the summary will remain available through the TDA Library website, http://www.tda.gov/library/search_criteria.cfm , allowing companies to track the availability of completed TDA investments sorted by country and sector.

Two recently completed studies are:

Bosnia & Herzegovina: Tuzla Airport Cargo Facilities
#98-10040A

Louis Berger International conducted this TDA-funded feasibility study on regional air cargo operations and facilities for the Tuzla Airport including the possible development of a multi-modal air cargo hub. The report contains recommendations, as well as the definition of the project, the conceptual framework, the current policies/regulatory environment, air cargo forecasts, the physical infrastructure of the airport, and the financial and economic analysis.

Vietnam: Linear Alklybenzene (LAB) Complex
#98-30036B

In July 1998, TDA approved a grant to fund a feasibility study on a proposed installation of a liner alkylbenzene (LAB) complex in Vietnam. The grantee, PetroVietnam, is the state-owned enterprise responsible for developing the country's petroleum and petrochemical industries. The LAB product is used to manufacture biodegradable, environmentally friendly detergents. The objective of the study was to examine the technical and financial feasibility of the project.

The U.S. firm, UOP LLC of Des Plaines, Illinois, conducted the study and the final report contains project information and locations, ownership and technical information, financial models, and the market study requested by potential lenders. Capital cost is estimated at $215 million including $80 million in potential U.S. exports coming primarily from engineering services, equipment such as catalysts and absorbents, materials, and technology licensing fees.
