Staff Notes

TDA is pleased to welcome Jennifer Snyder and Abaseh Mirvali as recent additions to our staff. Jennifer comes to TDA from the American-Turkish Council and will be working as a Country Manager in the NIS Region, focusing on Russia and Turkey.

Also in our NIS Region, Abaseh will be replacing Deborah Forhan in Ankara, Turkey, as the agency's Director of Business Development at the Caspian Finance Center. Formerly with DOE in Washington, more recently Abaseh organized the AmCham in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. After yeoman service for TDA, Deborah decided to take some time off and then seek new opportunities in Turkey.

TDA Country Manager KelleyAnn Szalkowski has moved from the NIS to the Africa/Middle East Region focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa. Having returned from her first business development trip to Africa-Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana - the next countries on her schedule include Namibia and South Africa.

Public Affairs Specialist Joy Stenner has returned from her maternity leave. Jennifer Sutton, formerly with National Strategies, most capably filled in on her behalf.

TDA was blessed with an energetic and intelligent group of interns this summer: Legal, Adrienne Wasserman, George Mason School of Law; in Evaluations, Carrie DenBleyker, Abilene Christian University, and Alisa Wong, London School of Economics; in the Latin American/Caribbean Region, Meredith Bullock, University of North Carolina, and Aaron Rosenberg, College of William and Mary; in the Africa/Middle East Region, Ian MacLeod, Syracuse University; in the Asia Region, Stephen Citarella, SAIS at Johns Hopkins University; and in Europe Region, Daniel DelRe from Indiana University.
