USTDA Business Opportunities Seminar Helps Small and Medium-Size Firms Compete in Overseas Markets

USTDA has a strong record of supporting smaller businesses interested in expanding their international portfolio. In fact, small U.S. firms carry out all initial USTDA-funded project research through definitional mission (DM) and desk study (DS) contracts. Last year, USTDA worked with 97 different small enterprises on over 200 DMs and DSs.

China Receives USTDA Country of the Year Honors

As reported in the last issue of USTDA Update, the People’s Republic of China was selected as the USTDA 2002 Country of the Year. This honor was bestowed based on the strong commitment by China’s many private and public sector sponsors to work with USTDA in a smooth and efficient manner. In recognition of this honor, Director Askey presented a plaque to His Excellency Yang Jiechi, Ambassador to the United States from the People’s Republic of China, in a ceremony at USTDA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.
