FEASIBILITY STUDY GRANT SIGNING FOR WIND POWER PROJECT IN RUSSIA

St. Petersburg, Russia - (November 13, 2001) Earlier today, on behalf of the US Trade and Development Agency (TDA), Michael Klecheski, Acting Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate in St. Petersburg, Russia and Alexander Anisimov, President of Lidesm signed a grant agreement to undertake a feasibility study on establishing the first utility scale wind power plants in Northwest Russia. TDA will provide a grant of $778,404 to Lidesm for this important study. The US contractor for the study is ABB, Inc., Wind Power Division of Raleigh, NC.

The Leningrad region is a growing industrial area with a large and growing population and increasing power demands. Wind power could create an inexpensive environmentally sound option for the region. Potential exports from the project are $70-80 million for engineering services and supplies, and turbines.

The signing ceremony was held in the library of the Consulate Residence. Also in attendance were Michael Richardson, Principal Commercial Officer at the Consulate, William L. Snyder, Director, ABB, Inc., and the subcontractors on the project, Daniel Ancona, International Program Manager, Princeton Energy Resources International, June Koch, President, CMT Consulting, John Mills, Director of Sales and Development Engineering, Enron Wind, and Frederick Morse, President, Morse Associates, Inc.
