Annual Business Outreach Seminar to be Held in Detroit
Each year, TDA hosts a Business Outreach Seminar designed to help
U.S. companies find success in today's competitive global market.
This year, the event will take place on April 18th in Detroit,
Michigan. U.S. businesses new to TDA can learn about the agency's
export-promotion mission. Those companies that have done business
with us in the past will have a chance to learn more about contracting
procedures to refine their current proposals.
A "How To" Agenda
The agenda for the seminar will primarily focus on how U.S. businesses particularly
small enterprises can win contracts from TDA. Details
will be provided on TDA's definitional mission and desk study
program, which is reserved exclusively for small businesses.
Competing for feasibility studies, training grants and technical
assistance will also be covered. Finally, the program will provide
insight into the agency's outreach, including details on conferences,
orientation visits and the TDA library.
A "Big Picture" Agenda
In addition to providing information about how TDA can help U.S. businesses
export, this one-day seminar will also feature representatives from the Small
Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank the Overseas
Private Investment Corporation, the U.S. Department of Commerce
and the Detroit Regional Chamber. These presentations collectively
will provide attendees with information on how to navigate federal
government and other agency assistance to expand their international
business. Guest speakers include Congresswoman Carolyn Kilpatrick,
D-Mich., and Congressman Joe Knollenberg, R-Mich.
Valuable Q&A
Attendees will also
benefit from ample Q&A time with members of TDA's regional
and administrative staff, as well as representatives from other
federal government export-promotion agencies. Time will be allotted
at the end of the day for informal one-on-one meetings between
the panelists and attendees.
