Emergencies
An actual or imminent set of conditions or hazards, if not corrected
or prevented could endanger building occupants. Examples would be fires,
bomb threats, gas leaks, medical problems or chemical spills.
Emergency Reporting Procedures for the Pentagon, Pentagon Utility
Plant and Navy Annex
(Federal Building #2)
All emergencies occurring in and around the Pentagon, Pentagon Utility
Plant or Federal Building #2 (Navy Annex) should be reported to DPS
on (703) 697-5555. If you dial 911 from the Pentagon,
Pentagon Utility Plant or Federal Building #2 (Navy Annex), the call
will go to Arlington County Police and Fire. Arlington Police and Fire
Automatic Location Identifier (ALI) will give the location only, e.g.
"Pentagon", "Navy Annex", but no exact room number.
Arlington County Police and Fire will call the Defense Protective Service
(DPS) Communications Center to verify the exact location. It is important
that all emergencies at the Pentagon, Pentagon Utility Plant and Navy
Annex is reported to DPS. DPS Communications Center has direct connections
by telephone and radio to Arlington County Police and Fire.
Emergency Reporting Procedures for DoD/WHS Leased Facilities
For fire alarms or medical conditions that may require emergency responses,
at DoD/WHS leased locations, building occupants should call 911 and
give their address to include room number, type of emergency and other
requested information by the 911 operator. A follow-up call should be
made to the DPS on (703) 697-5555. DPS conducts preliminary
investigations on all activity occurring in DoD/WHS leased buildings.
For thefts, facility problems and other calls for police service contact
DPS on (703) 697-5555. If you have questions please
contact DPS Communications Center on the non-emergency number (703)
697-1001. The Communications Center personnel are customer
oriented and will assist you with your questions.
