A seamless, paperless, temporary duty travel system that meets the needs of travelers, commanders, and process owners. It will reduce costs, support mission requirements, and provide superior customer service.

Mission
The PMO-Defense Travel System will develop, implement and sustain a seamless, paperless temporary duty travel system that: meets the needs of travelers, commanders and process owners; reduces costs, supports mission requirements, and provides superior customer service.
Functions

  • Facilitates implementation of a process that rests responsibility and authority for travel planning, performance, payment and auditing at the lowest reasonable level.
  • Adapts and standardizes best business practices from Government and the private sector.
  • Defines, designs, and implements a standard record format including the data content, and structure a “paper” format and electronic approval requirements and procedures to replace separate travel authorizations, orders, itineraries, vouchers and other current forms.
  • Responsible for the acquisition of travel services to be utilized by the Services and throughout the DoD and for the integration of the components of the system.
