Ombudsman Service for Voter Assistance

To further assist citizens covered by both the UOCAVA, and the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) as this law applies to the designation of Armed Forces Recruiting Offices as voter registration agencies, the FVAP provides an Ombudsman Service which puts the citizen, Voting Assistance Officer (VAO), state and local government officials, and Armed Forces Recruiter, directly in touch with an FVAP expert.

Contact the Ombudsman Service when you have exhausted your normal channels of support. For example, if you fill out the FPCA, read the 2004-05 Voting Assistance Guide and still have a question or two, it's time to use the Ombudsman Service. Or, if you completed the FPCA, sent for a ballot, and two weeks prior to the election it still hasn't arrived, contact the FVAP.

You can contact the Ombudsman Service by e-mail at vote@fvap.ncr.gov. or by clicking on the "Contact" icon/Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.

The toll-free number in the U.S. is 800-438-8683. The regular commercial number is (703) 588-1584 and the fax number is (703) 588-8438. Click here for the FVAP's toll free telephone access numbers from 64 countries.
