The Buy Accessible database, available soon, will assist government personnel in completing the market research necessary to ensure that they are buying the most accessible IT products and services available in order to comply with Section 508.

To answer some of the frequently asked questions with respect to section 508 and procurement policies and practices, an inter-agency group has put together a new technical assistance document, “Acquisition of Electronic and Information Technology Under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.”

Industry, through the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), has developed a template that will allow vendors to communicate in a standard way how they comply with the Access Board’s provisions. Links to templates for many specific products will be available shortly from the http://www.section508.gov/ website, as well as on the Federal Supply Schedules.
