Directions to NSF via the Metro:

  • Take the orange line train to the Ballston-Marymount University stop
  • Exit the train station and enter the building with glass doors directly in front of top of escalator stairs**
  • Proceed up the escalators located slightly to the right in this building and cross the skywalk into the NSF Building
  • Go to main entrance on lobby level (by stairs or elevator), show ID and pick up visitors badge
  • Proceed to conference room
  • **OR Exit train station and walk to Stuart then proceed about 1 block to 9th street (NSF is on the corner of 9th & Stuart)

Public parking is available across the Street in the Ballston Common Shipping Center, Colonial Parking beneath the NSF building, metered parking and other public parking lots in the surrounding area. Generally, you can find parking for about $5.00 in the lots. All visitors must present a valid photo ID at the lobby level main entrance and pick up a visitors badge.

Directions to NSF from Union Station by car or taxi (8 miles, 15 minutes)

  • Exiting Union Station, follow Louisiana Ave., NW proceeding South to Constitution Avenue
  • Turn right onto Constitution Avenue, NW
  • Follow Constitution Ave., to signs for Rt. I-66 West, crossing the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and staying in the left lane
  • Exit I-66 West at Glebe Road, Exit #71/Route 120 (approx. 2 miles)
  • Turn left at the end of the off-ramp onto Glebe Road
  • Proceed 1/2 mile (approx. 4 stop lights) to Wilson Boulevard
  • Turn left on Wilson Boulevard
  • Turn left on N. Stuart Street
  • Turn right on 9th Street, NSF entrance is on the corner of N. Stuart and 9th Street

ID Requirement: All visitors must present a valid photo ID at the lobby level main entrance and pick up a visitors badge. An escort will be available. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for the visitor's badge issuance.
