DOJ Survey - User Guide

Overview of the User Types in the DOJ Survey

  1. DAO: The Designated Agency Official is the primary point of contact for each agency. They are the lead, and are ultimately responsible for their agencies user accounts, as well as making sure their agency has submitted a complete survey.
    • The DAO account is created by the Survey Administrators (508survey2003@gsa.gov).
    • The DAO can create Component Users.
    • The DAO can upgrade a Component User to a Component Coordinator.
    • The DAO can view Component User responses (as listed under the Component Coordinators).
    • The DAO can submit responses to the survey, edit their own responses, and finalize their own responses.
    • When all information is provided in the survey, the DAO will submit the roll up report via the "finalize survey" link from their menu. This indicates that the agencies survey is complete.

Note: A "Component" in not a person, it is defined as part of an agency.

  2. Component Coordinator: The Component Coordinator is basically the same as the Component User, but with additional responsibilities. The Component Coordinator manages all of the users for their component, and sub-components.
    • The Component Coordinator is designated by the DAO.
    • They create Component Users for their sub-components.
    • They can view the responses given by the users from their Component, as well as their Sub-components.
    • They can submit responses to the survey, edit their own responses, and finalize their own responses.

  3. Component User:
    • The Component User account is set up by the DAO, or by a Component Coordinator if they are on a Sub-Component level.
    • They can view the responses given by the users from their component
    • They can submit responses to the survey, edit their own responses, and finalize their own responses.
