Investigations
Two divisions conduct investigations, the
Hotlines Division and the Special Inquiries Division.
The
Hotlines Division
provides a method to receive and investigate reports of fraud,
waste, mismanagement, military reprisal/Whistleblower complaints, and
improper mental health evaluation referrals.
We also
assist Navy members and their families by directing them to
the

The Special Inquiries Division conducts inquiries into complaints
involving senior officials, Admirals and Selected Service employees, and responds to congressional inquiries.

The Inspections Division conducts area visits, command
inspections, and reviews the command climate.

Audit
The Audit Division located in the Washington DC Office
of the Naval Inspector General provides audit follow-up,
liaison, and oversight of the actions taken by Department of the Navy managers to correct deficiencies identified in audit reports. The Audit Division is also responsible for resolving disputed Naval Audit Service reports and prepares semi-annual reports for Congress. ... more
