Partnering Opportunities & Resources For National and Local Organizations

Thousands of organizations nationwide are partnering with IRS to make a difference in their communities. We invite you to join our partner network and provide your clients, employees, organization members, and members of your communities with the information and assistance they need, want and value. With so many tax benefits available today, taxes can serve as the starting point for a dream leading to stronger financial security for many people.

Our approach to meeting individual taxpayers' needs for tax education and assistance, is through a network of partnerships with national and local organizations, and businesses. Our approach to educating individual taxpayers is to join with other organizations, combining resources for greater impact in the community. Organizations of all types -- corporate, faith-based, non-profit, educational, financial, public service, and government -- join in these community-based coalitions to educate taxpayers and provide hands-on assistance to help them comply with their tax responsibilities.

We share common goals with our partners in three key areas:

  • Promoting tax understanding and awareness
  • Preparing accurate tax returns free for low- to moderate-income people
  • Encouraging personal asset building through tax incentives

We offer valuable services to help our partners by:

  • Bringing dollars and other resources into the community
  • Providing volunteers valuable personal skills and financial insights
  • Satisfying community outreach and education goals or requirements
If you represent an organization that works with any of the following populations, why not look further to see how you can become involved?

Low-to-moderate income population

If your group reaches out to low- to moderate-income individuals, you could offer them tax credit assistance that puts more money into their pockets by partnering with us.

Older Americans

If your organization already has an audience or readership of older Americans, your group’s participation with us could bring tax information and assistance to a group that often lives on a fixed income.

General Population

If your business or civic group focuses on the general public through the services or products you offer, your partnership with us could help bring more money directly back into your community.

Students

If your organization is a part of or has ties to the academic community, then a partnership with us could add volunteerism to the list of options made available to these future taxpayers. Student volunteers using computers to prepare tax returns can provide a fast, accurate, free service to taxpayers while learning more about the federal tax system.

Non-English Speaking or English as a Second Language

If your group has links to immigrant populations, then you probably represent a trusted source of information for them. Partnering with us can mean assisting your clients and customers in filing for tax refunds owed to them.

Military

If the military is currently one of your customers, you may be in a position to support tax assistance efforts along with the products or services you already provide. The Armed Forces Tax Council (AFTC) is a strong partner with IRS, providing servicemen and women with tax help and electronic transmission of tax returns at military installations worldwide. Partnering with us could mean assisting your clients and customers in filing for tax refunds owned to them.

Employees

If your Human Resource function is seeking easy and simple ways to improve employee satisfaction, we can offer skills, products and educational materials to assist your employees.

Partner Products and Volunteer Resource Center

This section contains products and materials to both implement and complement your tax partnership efforts. The resource center contains materials for current partners, potential partner and our volunteers that assist with Free Tax Preparation.
