Working at DHS
The employees of the new Department of Homeland Security - most of whom joined the Department on March 1, 2003 - have a vital role to play in securing our homeland. Whether they are inspecting cargo, agriculture products, or travelers; securing our waterways and airspace; responding to emergencies; assessing law enforcement information; or researching and developing the latest technology in support of the DHS mission; employees are the Department's most valuable asset, the frontline in the war against terrorism.

DHS Announces Proposed New Human Resources System
The proposed regulations for the Department of Homeland Security's new Human Resources System have been published in the Federal Register. All employees, along with members of the public, may review and submit formal comments on the proposed system. The deadline for submitting public comments is March 22, 2004.
