The Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (the Committee) provides advice and recommendations on a broad range of issues dealing with programs and activities authorized under Section 756 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act.

The Committee was created by Congress in order to review the goals of HRSA/BHPr programs supporting interdisciplinary, community-based initiatives, and make recommendations to the Secretary and Congress accordingly.  The Committee was initiated to provide advice on programmatic matters concerning the Agency, specifically in the disciplines of: Geriatrics, Area Health Education Centers, Health Education Training Centers, Allied Health, Chiropractic, Podiatric Medicine, and the Quentin N. Burdick Program for Rural, Interdisciplinary Training.  The Committee is the single entity in existence which performs this function for the Department.
