| | | | | U.S. Joins “Supporting Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development” Partnership On September 7, 2004, Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky announced that the United States had joined the Supporting Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development (Seed) Initiative.The Seed Initiative, led by IUCN, the UN Environment Program, and the UN Development Program, with support from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, and the Norwegian Ministry of Environment Norway, encourages community level partnership action in support of sustainable development.
