To assure permanent public access to electronic U.S. Government information, the FDLP is operating an archive of publications which are identified, described, and pointed to as part of the FDLP/EC, and which are not part of the FDLP in any other form nor guaranteed to be permanently available by their issuing agency or entity. Users will be directed from GPO's locator tools and services to the server of the originating agency or entity for as long as the publication is available. At the point that a publication is no longer available from the source, users will be directed automatically to the FDLP/EC Archive. Notice of this re-routing will appear to the user.
In addition to its archiving activities, the FDLP is actively working with agencies to ensure that publications on agency servers remain freely available over time, through a variety of partnership agreements.
