  • Tips for Using Web-Based Databases

OPA has available at this link a detailed “Public Access Guide” which describes the download process.  For further assistance, please contact the Pharmacy Services Support Center at 1-800-628-6297.

Quick Tips for Covered Entity downloads – the default in the Participating Covered Entities database is now Participating = Yes.  This means that the download will provide you with all ACTIVE covered entities.  If you have a need for a list of all entities, including those which have been terminated, you must change the selection for the Participating field to (ALL).  Wildcards, such as the asterisk (*), may be used to capture a group of records - e.g., typing *Houston in the entity name field will give you all records that contain the word Houston in the entity name.

Quick Tips for Manufacturer downloads – to find information in the OPA database on a particular manufacturer, you may enter the entire 5-digit Labeler Code, OR you may type in any part of the Manufacturer Name or Contact Name.  The system will provide you with all matches that contain what you enter.

Quick Tips for Contracted Pharmacy downloads – to find a Contracted Pharmacy for a particular covered entity, you may enter the entire ID Number for that entity, OR any part of the Entity Name or Contracted Pharmacy Name.  They system will provide you with all matches that contain what you enter.  You may also download all covered entities and/or Contracted Pharmacies within a particular State.
