Questions/Comments about FCIC's Website or Program:

We are happy to hear from you and will make every effort to respond quickly. Click here to go to our e-mail form. However, please be aware that the Federal Citizen Information Center  has no regulatory authority and does not directly handle consumer complaints. If you have a consumer problem, we have listed below some sources of information that may be of assistance.

The Consumer's Action Handbook gives listings of federal, state, and local government offices with consumer related responsibilities. The Handbook also includes Better Business Bureaus, and consumer contacts with corporations and trade associations, and it tells how to write an effective complaint letter.

Search the web. Start by searching FCIC's web site for the information you need and then try one or more of the other search engines listed on our search page to comb the web.

Another valuable resource is your local library. The reference section is likely to have materials to help answer your questions, and the librarian can assist you in finding the information you need on any subject.

Questions/Comments about the U.S. Government:

If your question or comment relates to the U.S. Government (and not just FCIC) we have two options for you to be heard.

Toll-free: FCIC's National Contact Center at 1 (800) FED INFO (that's 1 (800) 333-4636). Call us weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. eastern time (except Federal holidays). Our staff can answer your question or get you to someone who can. We also have recordings and web pages of frequently requested information available around the clock.

Internet: FCIC's FirstGov.gov website is the "front door" to the U.S. Government. Search millions of Federal, State, and Local web pages, browse hundreds of resources indexed and organized by topic area, or e-mail us your question. It's a great first click to government information on the web.
