Data Collection Schedule

The NSCAW will be carried out over a six-year period, from October 1997 through September 2003. After approximately 18 months of planning and preparation, the first round of field data collection began in Fall 1999. Sampling was conducted monthly over a 15-month period, and baseline data collection was completed in April of 2001. The current contract calls for two rounds of follow-up data collection--at 12 months and 18 months post-baseline. Planning also is underway for a 36-month follow-up. Both children who remain in the system and those who leave the system will be followed for the full study period
