Building Performance Awareness of Lightweight Construction During Fires

Nationally applicable educational and demonstration materials to enhance firefighter awareness of the fire performance of different forms of lightweight construction components, such as trusses, glue laminated beams, I-joists, structural composite lumber, and wood structural panels.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Training materials to establish and maintain an effective CERT program. CERT training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people that they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, or workplaces in basic response skills. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area.

National Fire Academy Fire Prevention Curriculum

Resident and distance education courses to assist in the management of code development, evaluation and enforcement processes; management of fire prevention programs; implementing community-wide risk reduction activities; the conduct of fire safety inspections; analysis of building fire and life safety; and understanding of fire protection systems and equipment.
