Description

 

NASA/GSFC intends to extend Contract No. NAS5-99124 entitled "Multidisciplinary Engineering Development Services" for the Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate with QSS Group, Inc. on a sole source basis. This extension will be for a six-month period through October 21, 2004. This extension will allow the work to continue until the award of the competitive follow-on procurement. The follow-on procurement is expected to be in place by October 22, 2004. QSS Group, Inc. is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement, due to its current involvement in critical flight programs such as POES, JWST, SWIFT, SDO, GPM, AURA, ST-5, ASTRO E2, GLAS, and HST. QSS Group, Inc. has the expertise and knowledge necessary to continue testing and development of these complex systems to meet critical schedules for the flight projects during this interim period. The statutory authority for Other Than Full and Open Competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
