Description
 
NASA/JSC is acquiring Calibration and Metrology Services. The Contractor will be responsible for operating and maintaining an existing calibration and metrology servcies laboratory, located on the site of the NASA -Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, and support calibrations at JSC, Sonny Carter Training Facility and Ellington Field, as required. The contractor will calibrate equipment used by NASA/JSC and it's contractors. Examples of equipment to be calibrated are: pressure transducers, thermocouples, load sensors, and general electronics-lab measurement equipment. It is estimated that 15,000 pieces of equipment will need to be calibrated yearly.

A Draft RFP was synopsized and solicited under Solicitation Number: 9-BJ4-V50-04-01P. The Final Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued under a new Solicitation Number: NNJ04050170R as detailed below.

The contractor will also maintain reference and working standards, generate test reports, and calibrate equipment submitted by it's customers. It is estimated that 150 metrology reference standards and 700 working standards will need to be maintained annually.

This basic contract will be for a duration of 2 years, with 3, 1-year options.

The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.

This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1.

The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541380 and $10M, respectively.

All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.

An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
